About BAE Systems

BAE Systems runs a non-rotational UK graduate programme of 18 to 30 months across Engineering, Technology and Business Services streams, plus 6 and 12 month industrial placements, 12 week summer internships and degree apprenticeships. Sites include Barrow-in-Furness among others across the UK.

Selection for placements and internships is an online application, then a virtual assessment mixing gamified challenges with video questions, then an interview held remotely or in person. Popular roles can close before any published deadline, so early application matters here.

The main recruitment window for placements and internships starts in early September: the 2026-entry intake closed with placements starting June 2026, and BAE confirmed the 2027-entry cycle opens in September 2026.

Every applicant needs at least Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance, and some roles need National Security Vetting, which typically asks for five to ten years' continuous UK residency.
Nationality, previously held nationalities and place of birth can restrict which roles you are eligible for, due to security and export control rules.
Visa sponsorship exists only for some roles and is never guaranteed.
