Worth knowing

  • Every applicant needs at least Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance, and some roles need National Security Vetting, which typically asks for five to ten years' continuous UK residency.
  • Nationality, previously held nationalities and place of birth can restrict which roles you are eligible for, due to security and export control rules.
  • Visa sponsorship exists only for some roles and is never guaranteed.
  • Published pay: graduate starting salary of £34,000 plus a £2,000 welcome payment; their internship pages advertise placement pay from £25,900 pro rata.
  • Placement applicants must be on course for at least a 2:2 in a related subject and not yet graduated.
