Stripe graduate schemes

Stripe hires UK students and graduates into its London office through what it calls its "emerging talent" programme, which "encompasses internship, apprenticeship, and early career roles". In London that means two software engineering roles, Software Engineer, Intern and Software Engineer, New Grad, both listed under Stripe's "University" team.

How Stripe recruits

Stripe does not publish a process specific to early careers. Its careers FAQ says "Most processes include a recruiter screen, a technical or skills-based assessment, and a series of interviews with the team you'd be joining", and that "Timelines vary by role, level, and location". For full-time roles Stripe says "we hire on a rolling basis", so there is no fixed sift date to work back from, and neither London advert carries a closing date. Each role has its own application form on stripe.com, so the internship and the new grad role are separate applications, and Stripe recommends "applying to all Stripe roles as early as possible". Nothing on Stripe's own pages sets a reapplication bar or a cap on how many roles you can apply to.

Stripe publishes no opening or closing dates for these roles. The only date in either advert is an eligibility one: the new grad role wants a degree "obtained by summer 2027", which fixes the intake year. We confirmed both London roles live on stripe.com on 6 September 2026. Because Stripe hires "on a rolling basis" and tells you to apply "as early as possible", the practical deadline is the day the advert comes down, not a date you can plan around. An archived November 2025 version of Stripe's university page put its interview window as starting "typically August" in the year before the internship and running into the following February.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Stripe describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01Recruiter screenStripe's careers FAQ names "a recruiter screen" as the first step. This is Stripe's description of its hiring process generally, not a separate early careers process, and it does not say what the screen covers.
02A technical or skills-based assessmentStripe's own wording. It does not say what form this takes for the London software engineering roles, or whether it is timed, live or take-home.
03A series of interviews with the team you'd be joiningStripe's own wording. It adds that "Timelines vary by role, level, and location" and that "We try to work quickly and give clear feedback at every stage", so do not read a fixed number of rounds into this.

Worth knowing

  • Neither London advert carries a closing date, and Stripe publishes none on its emerging talent page. For full-time roles Stripe says "we hire on a rolling basis".
  • Published pay, which is unusual for a UK early careers advert. The new grad role states "The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £60,000 - £90,000". The internship states "The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £49,200 - £49,200", an annualised figure with the same top and bottom.
  • The new grad role wants a degree "obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience" and adds that "New grad candidates should have no more than 18 months of professional experience (excluding internship experience)". So it is open to people who have already graduated recently, not only to finalists.
  • The internship asks for "pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, math, or a related discipline". Stripe sets no UK degree class, but it does say "GPA matters to us, and we factor it into our review", and that it recruits "from schools where we've consistently seen strong performance".
  • The internship is not a guaranteed route to a graduate job. Stripe says "Internships can be a path to a full-time role at Stripe, but there's no guarantee" and "Conversion is selective".
  • Both roles are hybrid. Stripe says "Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users".
  • Stripe does not publish a visa sponsorship position for these roles, on the adverts, the emerging talent page or its careers pages. If you need sponsorship, ask the recruiter before you invest time in the process.
  • The internship advert names the stack: "We work mostly in Ruby, Java, Javascript, Go, and Scala." It also lists AI tool use as a minimum requirement, not a nice to have: "Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs."
  • Stripe does not state the length or the season of the London internship anywhere on the advert. Other Stripe offices have separate "Summer or Winter" intern listings; the London one is titled simply "Software Engineer, Intern".
