How Bending Spoons recruits

There is no single graduate scheme with a fixed deadline: each discipline (software engineering, data science, finance, product, security) is its own open posting, and Bending Spoons says candidates "don't need to wait until graduation to apply," with "flexible start dates and part-time options" so people can start part-time and move to full-time after finishing their degree. Its FAQ describes the process as "the application process generally starts with a résumé screening. Then, certain applicants are invited to take on a few tasks, before moving on to the interviews phase," adding that "the process can require anything from a few weeks to a few months to complete, and takes place entirely online."

Bending Spoons does not publish fixed application dates; roles for the graduate programme and the summer internship are open on a continuous posting basis on its own careers site. Our pipeline first confirmed live UK graduate and internship postings on 20 August 2026.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Bending Spoons describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01Résumé screening"The application process generally starts with a résumé screening."
02Tasks"Certain applicants are invited to take on a few tasks" before interviews; for engineering roles this includes "one or more challenging tests" that "may take several hours."
03InterviewsCandidates then move on to the interviews phase, described as taking place "entirely online."

Worth knowing

  • For the graduate software engineer posting, Bending Spoons states: "Typical annual salary offers range from £85,797 to £151,436 in London and from €66,065 to €107,837 elsewhere in Europe," with exceptional candidates able to receive more.
  • The company can sponsor UK visas for some roles: "Currently, we can sponsor a visa or residency permit for Italy, Poland, Spain, or the UK," conditional on the applicant's current country of residence.
  • New joiners on the graduate engineering track should expect to relocate short-term: "we expect you to spend most days in our Milan office during your first few months with us, regardless of your long-term work location."
  • Academic pedigree is explicitly downplayed: "Excelling at a top university is an advantage, but it's not everything, plenty of Spooners have achieved great things here without a spotless academic background."
  • Rejected candidates are told to "wait at least one year before applying again" on the graduate finance posting.
