About Macquarie

Macquarie runs a Graduate Programme, a Summer Internship Programme, a Spring Insight Programme, a one day Technology Insight event, off-cycle internships and a Junior Associate Programme. The Graduate Programme and the Summer Internship are listed for "London, Dublin"; the Insight Programme is listed for London only. Technology is one of the areas you can apply into, alongside Commodities and Global Markets, Internal Audit, Macquarie Asset Management, Macquarie Capital and Risk Management Group.

You get one application. Macquarie says "For graduates and interns, we only accept one application per person as we are looking for students who are passionate about the area that they are applying to." Inside that single application you rank two areas: "In your application you'll have the opportunity to select a first and second preference. We will process your application for the first preference and will only consider you for your second preference if we find your profile suitable for that area." The programmes are also mutually exclusive: "You are only able to apply for one programme due to our eligibility criteria (i.e. the Summer Internship Programme or Graduate Training Programme but not both)." So the graduate, technology and internship openings you see listed are not separate applications. There is a published closing date, but it is not a safe target: "We recruit on a rolling basis and may fill the roles before application window closes." Macquarie's own advice is "For graduate and intern roles, we recommend submitting your application well before the deadline." Treat the deadline as a backstop, not a plan. You do not need a cover letter, and "We do not ask for references for our graduate or intern roles."

Macquarie publishes its own dates. Its FAQ states "Graduate and Intern Programmes: Open 1 September 2026, close 30 October 2026." That covers both the 2027 Graduate Programme and the 2027 Summer Internship. No separate deadline is published for technology roles; the hub lists Technology as one of the areas hiring into those same programmes. The Insight Programme runs on a later window: "Insight Programmes: Open 12 October 2026, close on 30 November 2026." Off-cycle internships sit outside both, with "Applications accepted throughout the year". The 1 September opening has now held for three cycles running, and the graduate and intern deadline has landed in the last week of October each time, so if you are reading this over the summer, expect the window to open on the first of September.

  • One application per person for graduate and intern roles. You pick a first and second preference inside it, and the second is only considered "if we find your profile suitable for that area".
  • You cannot hedge across programmes either: "You are only able to apply for one programme due to our eligibility criteria (i.e. the Summer Internship Programme or Graduate Training Programme but not both)."
  • Applications close 30 October 2026 for both the Graduate Programme and the Summer Internship, but Macquarie says "We recruit on a rolling basis and may fill the roles before application window closes."
