About Howden

Howden is an insurance broking group, and its 2027 early careers intake is one of the most transparent on this site: every advert names the salary, and every one carries the same closing date. The roles are specialist rather than general: credit risk, political risk, marine and cargo, reinsurance broking, technical claims, actuarial and analytics.

Their graduate and internship roles are advertised individually on their own board rather than as one scheme with streams inside it, so the programme you apply to is the desk you join. Fourteen roles are live for 2027 and they sit almost entirely in the City: thirteen at One Creechurch Place in London and one in Romford.

All fourteen 2027 roles close on 13 October 2026, on their board and in ours. There is no second wave advertised behind it.

  • Howden publishes the salary on every early careers advert, which almost nobody in insurance does. It means you can compare desks honestly before applying rather than after an offer.
  • The investment banking internship pays 75,000 pro rata against 32,500 on the other internships, which tells you how differently that desk is positioned inside the same group.
  • Only one graduate role names a degree class. Two say any degree background, and the actuarial internship adds an A level maths requirement of grade A or above, so the bar is set per desk rather than per firm.
