Markel runs three separate UK early career strands under one international early careers hub: a graduate programme, an apprenticeship programme, and an industrial placement and summer internship programme. Its UK graduate programme is based in Leeds and London with a September 2026 start; its apprenticeship programme runs from London, Leeds and Manchester, also starting September 2026; and its industrial placement and summer internship programme is London only, with placements starting in July 2026 and internships in June 2026. The same hub also lists separate graduate programmes for Asia-Pacific and Europe, based in Munich, on their own timelines. We currently track no live Markel International early careers roles.
Markel International has no early careers roles open at the moment. This page updates the day they publish one.
None of the three UK strands publish a multi-step selection process on this hub; instead each is described by its structure and eligibility. Graduate hires get "on-the-job experience, technical and professional skills training, and the opportunity to receive professional qualifications", developing through "rotations or secondments, projects and mentoring", and Markel states graduate roles are "permanent roles from day one". Apprentices "remain with your core team for the duration of your programme" and apprenticeship roles are likewise described as "permanent roles from day one". The placement and internship route is aimed at "Penultimate University students". All three strands ask for proven eligibility to work where the role is based: apprentices specifically need "Proven eligibility to work in the UK", while the graduate and placement and internship pages ask for "Proven eligibility to work in the country in which the role is located".
Markel's hub states plainly that applications for its 2026 UK graduate programme (Leeds and London, September 2026 start) and its 2026 UK apprenticeship programme (London, Leeds and Manchester, September 2026 start) are now closed, as are its 2026 industrial placement (July 2026 start) and summer internship (June 2026 start), both London only. No date is published for when the next UK intake opens. Its separate Europe graduate programme (Munich, October 2026 start) is also shown as closed for 2026, while its Asia-Pacific graduate programme is shown as opening soon.
