Citi hires UK students and graduates into Summer Analyst internships, Placement Analyst placements of "3 to 11 months", a four day Spring Insight programme in London, Full-Time Analyst and Full-Time Associate roles, and Early Career Apprenticeships in London and Belfast. The London early careers roles we track sit at Canary Wharf: Corporate Banking and Markets at 33 Canada Square, Investment Banking at 25 Canada Square. Summer Analyst is aimed at "Penultimate year university students", and Spring Insight at first years on a three year course or second years on a four year course.

How Citi recruits
You apply role by role on Citi's own Workday site, and Citi say the account has to be theirs: "you will need to create a new, Citi-specific Workday account. Accounts created for other companies cannot be used for applications with Citi." Recruitment is rolling. The 2027 Corporate Banking Summer Analyst advert says "We will recruit on a rolling basis and therefore encourage you to apply as soon as possible", and the Markets Sales and Trading Summer Analyst advert says "Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis". For Markets you narrow your area after you submit, not before: "After submitting an application, you will be asked to select which area of Markets you are most interested in, Sales, Trading, Structuring, Quantitative Analysis or Securitisation and Financing", and Citi "will use this information to help align you to the most appropriate recruitment process". Read the full-time analyst titles carefully before you spend time on one. Two of the 2027 London adverts are marked "(Applicable for 2026 London Summer Interns ONLY)" and "(Applicable for 2026 Citi Summer interns only)", so they are conversion routes for Citi's own interns rather than open graduate schemes. We found no published rule on Citi's own site about how many roles you may apply to, and none about reapplying.
Citi's own internships page gives the Summer Analyst as "Start Date: May-June (applications typically open in September the year prior)", and the full-time page gives Full-Time Analyst as "Start Date: July/September (applications usually open in September the year prior). Varies by country." That matches what we see on their Workday: reading the 2027 London adverts on 6 September 2026, the Corporate Banking Summer Analyst was marked "Posted 2 Days Ago" and the Markets Sales and Trading Summer Analyst "Posted 5 Days Ago". Do not read that as the whole window closing in September, though. A Wayback capture of Citi's London Global Wealth Summer Analyst advert for 2026 entry, taken on 20 October 2025, shows it still live and still saying "We encourage you to apply as soon as possible as we receive an influx of applications and recruit on a rolling basis." Placement Analyst applications "typically open in September and January, depending on the country", and Spring Insight applications open in "October/November".
How the process usually runs

Worth knowing
- The 2027 Corporate Banking Summer Analyst role in London carries a published closing date on Citi's Workday: "End Date: September 30, 2026".
- The 2027 Markets Sales and Trading Summer Analyst role in London carries no closing date at all on its Workday posting. It says only "Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis", so there is no date to work back from and no warning before it comes down.
- Citi's wording on deadlines is not consistent across their own adverts. The 2027 Investment Banking Full Time Analyst advert says "There is no deadline for applications", while the same Workday posting shows "End Date: September 26, 2026". Trust the Workday end date, not the sentence.
- Two of the 2027 London full-time analyst adverts are shut to outside applicants. Their titles carry "(Applicable for 2026 London Summer Interns ONLY)" and "(Applicable for 2026 Citi Summer interns only)".
- Citi ask for a 2:1 in any subject: "Expected to achieve or have achieved a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree discipline."
- Year of study differs between desks. Corporate Banking says "You are in your penultimate/final year of university". Markets says "You are in your penultimate year of university", so finalists are not invited there.
- The London summer internship runs ten weeks from June: "The 10-week summer analyst program starts in June and begins with one-week of training in London." Citi's internships page gives the wider range as "Duration: May vary between 8-16 weeks."
- The internship is the main feeder for the graduate role: "Successful summer analysts will be considered for a full-time position after graduation."
- London roles are at Canary Wharf, but not one building. Corporate Banking and Markets say "33 Canada Square Canary Wharf - London, E14 5LB, United Kingdom"; the Investment Banking analyst advert says "25 Canada Square Canary Wharf - London, E14 5LB, United Kingdom".
- Working pattern is hybrid, with the office days fixed: "a mandatory three days in your assigned office, and an optional two days from home".
- Spring Insight is Citi's London spring programme: "Locations: London (on-site)", "Duration: Four days", "Start Date: March or around Easter (application open in October/November)", for "Students both within and outside the UK who are in their first year of a three-year course or second year of a four-year undergraduate course."
- Placement Analyst is the year in industry route, "Duration: 3 to 11 months", and is limited to "University students across the UK and Europe who require an internship as part of their degree."
- Citi run Early Career Apprenticeships in London, "Duration: 18-22 months" starting "Annually in September/October", and in Belfast, "Duration: 2 to 6 years" run with "Ulster University, Belfast Met or Queen's University Belfast".
- No pay figure is published. The London adverts say only "Successful candidates will be offered a competitive salary."
- A Workday account from another employer will not work. Citi say "Accounts created for other companies cannot be used for applications with Citi."
