How Accenture recruits

Every applicant goes through Accenture's own Discovery Portal assessment, software engineering applicants sit a coding assessment first, and Accenture says it sometimes closes applications earlier than advertised when volumes are high. Unsuccessful candidates wait six months before reapplying to any programme.

Accenture aims to respond within two to three weeks of an application, and directs candidates to each programme's own posted closing date rather than one shared deadline.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Accenture describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01Coding assessmentSoftware Engineering applicants only: an online technical screen before anything else.
02Discovery PortalAccenture's own online assessment, which every applicant is invited to complete regardless of programme.
03Task based interviewAn online interview with a recruiter built around work based scenarios and how you would respond.
04Business strengths interviewAn in-person, strengths-based interview with a Manager or Managing Director.
05Case studyAn extra stage for the Strategy, AI and Data, and Digital Engineering and Manufacturing programmes only.

Worth knowing

  • Visa position is strict on the technology graduate routes: Accenture says it cannot progress candidates who are on a graduate visa or without existing UK right to work.
  • Roles that need security clearance ask for five years' continuous physical residence in the UK.
  • There is no fixed degree classification requirement, though individual programmes can require a specific discipline.
  • UK offices for these programmes: Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Newcastle.
