Graduates, placements and school leavers go through six: online application, online assessment, a service line job simulation, a virtual assessment centre, a digital assessment for digital programmes only, then a final interview. Internships stop at four and work experience at three. Two of those stages are timed: "Once invited, you'll have seven days to complete it".

Deadlines are not uniform, and this is the thing to know about applying here. The two Consulting Graduate adverts in Glasgow say: "The closing date for this role will be 30th September, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a high volume of applications is received." The Audit Graduate advert in Edinburgh and the Audit School Leaver advert in Nottingham carry no closing date at all. None of the 69 roles we track carries a date in RSM's job feed, so the date, when there is one, is written inside the advert.

The same job in the same city can be two adverts. Consulting Graduate in Glasgow exists twice, once for the CIMA route and once for ACA, with identical requirements. Apply to the wrong one and you are studying for a qualification you did not choose.
A blank closing date does not mean there is no deadline. RSM prints a closing date on some adverts and not others, and the ones that do print it also reserve the right to close early when applications pile up.
The seven day windows are the thing people lose places to. Once you are invited to the online assessment or the job simulation, the clock starts whether you have read the email or not.
