About Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games keeps its student hiring on a separate applicant tracking board titled "Jobs at Rockstar Games Internships", not on the main "Jobs at Rockstar Games" board. As of 6 September 2026 the single role on it is "Intern: Data Analytics / Data Science (Spring 2027)" at Rockstar Leeds, "a paid, fixed term contract position running for 15 weeks from late January 2027 to early May 2027". Rockstar says it "is intended for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, or recent graduates" who have covered data science or data analytics.

Rockstar publishes no selection process on its own board beyond two lines on the advert itself. You "apply with a CV and cover letter demonstrating how you meet the skills above", and then, if they want to take it further, "a Rockstar recruiter will reach out to you to explain the next steps and guide you through the process". No tests, tasks or interview rounds are named anywhere on their own pages, so you will only learn the format after you have applied. There is no scheme wide application: you apply to the individual advert, and the internships board currently lists one job. The form makes your school, degree, discipline and course end date required, and asks one required screening question, "Have you ever worked for Rockstar, T2, Zynga, 2K or any of their affiliates or subsidiary companies before?". The CV upload is a required field and the cover letter one is not, though the advert asks for both. Rockstar publishes no rule about reapplying.

Rockstar publishes no opening or closing date for this internship. The advert page carries "application_deadline":null in its own data, and no "applications close" wording appears on it. Their own board records the post as first published on 12 May 2026, and it was still open when we checked on 6 September 2026, so it has been live for close to four months with no stated deadline. Rockstar gives no warning that it closes early once full, but with nothing published the safe read is to apply as soon as you are ready rather than wait for a date that may never be announced. Note the placement itself runs "from late January 2027 to early May 2027", so it is a spring placement in UK term time, not a summer one.

  • You need the right to work in the UK already. The advert says "Applicant must have the right to work in the UK." Rockstar publishes no offer of visa sponsorship for this internship.
  • Recent graduates are eligible, not only current students. The advert is "intended for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, or recent graduates who have completed coursework in data science, data analytics, or a related field".
  • It runs January to May, not over the summer: "15 weeks from late January 2027 to early May 2027", with "the expectation of a 37.5-hour work week". That falls in UK term time, so it suits a placement year or a recent graduate rather than a summer break.
