Barclays runs its UK early careers hiring in two shapes, an "Explorer" track and a one year fast-track "Expert" track, alongside summer internships, a Discovery insight programme and apprenticeships. The roles are not all in London: we are tracking them in Canary Wharf, Northampton, Glasgow and Knutsford, across technology, quantitative analytics, sales and trading, banking, risk, finance, compliance and internal audit.
Barclays describes four steps: your application, your assessment, your interview, then next steps. Their FAQ adds the part that decides most applications: "If no deadline is specified, we are likely recruiting on a rolling basis, however, early application is highly recommended".
Barclays states the limit plainly: "We accept one application per candidate per year for our graduate and internship programmes". So the choice of programme matters more here than almost anywhere else. Several 2027 programmes carry a stated closing date of 26 September 2026 in Barclays' own system; others carry none at all and simply fill.
