The live role we track, Junior AI Software Engineer in London, sits within Vodafone's wider technology graduate hiring rather than a separate scheme of its own.

How Vodafone recruits

Vodafone's Software Engineering Graduate Programme runs two 12-month rotations over two years, recruits via a single online application per programme per year, and its own FAQ states candidates get one application per year across its schemes. Vodafone's own page also warns the scheme "may close early if we receive a high number of applications."

Vodafone's own Software Engineering Graduate Programme page states assessment centres for the current cycle run "between January - March 2026" with a start date of September 2026. We first confirmed the Junior AI Software Engineer intake on 29 August 2026.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Vodafone describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01ApplyVodafone's own application-process page states this stage is to "Complete some basic details and attach your CV."
02Online AssessmentsVodafone's own page says this stage "will include two stages": a Reasoning Assessment, described as "spotting patterns and sequences, often using shapes or symbols," and a Video Recorded Interview where "your responses are recorded and reviewed later by our recruitment team."
03Assessment CentreVodafone's own page states candidates complete three exercises: a Group Exercise where "you'll work as a team on a business problem and present it back to the assessors," an Individual Role-play Exercise, and a One-to-one Interview. For the Software Engineering Graduate Programme this is held "between January - March 2026."

Worth knowing

  • Vodafone's Software Engineering Graduate Programme requires "A 2:2 degree or higher in a technoloy-related degree [sic] (think: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, AI/Robotics, or similar)" and graduation between June 2024 and August 2026.
  • Vodafone states it does "not accept the Graduate Route Visa" and requires the correct right-to-work documentation for the full programme duration.
  • Vodafone's own page lists a salary of £35,000 plus a £1,000 sign-on bonus for the Software Engineering Graduate Programme.
  • Vodafone's early-careers FAQ states "No, we don't offer sponsorship for our programmes" and limits applicants to one graduate application per year.
