How Schroders recruits

Schroders recruits on a rolling basis rather than to a single deadline: it says plainly that applying earlier improves your chances. Its published graduate process runs online application, online assessments (a gamified situational judgment test, a deductive-logical reasoning test, and an ADEPT-15 personality questionnaire), a competency-based video interview, an assessment centre, and a final round interview with a senior leader before an offer.

Schroders' own graduate FAQ says applications for the graduate programme "open in September each year" and that assessment centres for graduates "take place between November - February", with the programme itself usually starting "on the third Thursday of September". Our pipeline first confirmed the 2027 Internal Audit intake on 29 August 2026. Its Spring Insight Programme for first-year students says applications "open January".

How the process usually runs

Stages as Schroders describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01Online application form"Tell us a bit about yourself, your key skills and why you are interested in the graduate role you've applied to."
02Online assessmentsThree assessments: a "Gamified Situational Judgment Test (chatAssess)", "Deductive-logical Thinking (switchChallenge)" and a "Personality questionnaire (ADEPT-15® Workstyles)", run via Aon.
03Video interview"a short competency-based video interview so that we can get to know you better", completed "if successful in completing the online tests".
04Assessment centre"you'll be invited along to an assessment centre" to "meet our current apprentices", taking place November to February.
05Final round interview"an opportunity to meet a member of our senior leadership team for a final stage interview."
06Offer"If successful following the final round interview, you will be offered a role on our graduate programme here at Schroders."

Worth knowing

  • Eligibility: "If you are in your final year of study (degree or masters qualifications) or recently graduated, you are eligible to apply for the programme."
  • Degree subject: "For the majority of our graduate programmes we look forward to receiving your application regardless of the degree subject you've chosen to study." A STEM degree is preferred for the Data Insights and Technology graduate programmes specifically.
  • One application per candidate, per region: "We can accept one application per candidate, per region. You may apply to more than one role if the programmes are located in different regions."
  • Qualifications: "The majority of our graduates are supported to study for and sit the CFA qualification (Level 1)", with Finance and Tax graduates typically completing the CIMA or ACCA instead.
