Oliver Wyman is a management consulting firm that hires UK students and graduates into two offices, London and Newcastle. Its UK and Ireland entry-level page lists five 2027 openings: Entry-Level Consultant and Summer Internship 2027 in London, and Data and Analytics Analyst, Data and Analytics Summer Internship 2027 and a 12 month Data and Analytics Industrial Placement 2027 in Newcastle. There is also a separate entry-level Actuarial route in London, one of the "graduate programs in fields beyond consulting" they point you to.

How Oliver Wyman recruits

Each opening is a separate advert with its own deadline, so you apply per role rather than once to the firm. They ask you to "submit your CV and cover letter", and the Summer Internship advert carries a version asking for "your CV, cover letter and transcripts", so have transcripts to hand. Oliver Wyman describe assessment as "a mix of conversational and case interviews" rather than a test-then-interview funnel, and they publish six practice cases on their interview preparation page. Deadlines are set per advert and they are not consistent with each other: the Summer Internship 2027 advert gives a firm date, the graduate consulting advert carries an out of date one, and the Actuarial advert gives none. Every advert that states a date adds "We do reserve the right to close this opportunity early." No reapplication bar is published on their UK pages.

As of 6 September 2026 the UK and Ireland entry-level page still shows all five 2027 openings as "Open soon", but three Oliver Wyman early careers adverts were already live on careers.marsh.com, posted on 4 and 5 September 2026. Treat that hub's status labels as lagging behind the job board and check both. Last cycle the same page showed every opportunity as "Closed" on 13 August 2025 and showed all of them open by 18 November 2025, so applications open during the autumn.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Oliver Wyman describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01Submit your CV and cover letterThe consulting adverts say "Please submit your CV and cover letter." The Summer Internship 2027 advert also carries a version reading "Please submit your CV, cover letter and transcripts.", so prepare transcripts too. The Actuarial advert gives no application instructions at all.
02Conversational interviewsOliver Wyman say "These interviews are your chance to tell us about your background, interests, and career objectives." Their stated goal is to understand "your interest in business, your goals for the future, and your accomplishments and experiences".
03Case interviews"The case interview is an interactive exercise in analytical thinking that allows us to assess how you approach and evaluate a problem." They publish six practice cases on the interview preparation page, including a supermarket pharmacy case and an oil and gas price strategy case. Note they describe the process as "a mix" of the two interview types, not a fixed order.

Worth knowing

  • The Summer Internship 2027 advert publishes a closing date: "Closing date for applications is 15th January 2027." It adds that they reserve the right to close early.
  • The graduate Entry Level Consultant advert was reposted on 4 September 2026 but still reads "Closing date for applications is Sunday 25th October 2025", a date that has already passed. Do not plan around it. Apply early rather than waiting for a corrected date.
  • The entry-level Actuarial advert publishes no closing date anywhere in its text.
  • The internship is for penultimate year students: "Penultimate year students currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree."
  • No degree subject requirement on the consulting roles. The internship advert says "no specific major or prior consulting experience is required" and the graduate advert says "We do not require specific academic majors or industry experience".
  • The Actuarial route has different requirements: a degree "preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field" and a "Commitment to passing actuarial exams to achieve FIA designation within a few years".
  • UK offices are 55 Baker Street, London and Bank House, Newcastle upon Tyne. The Newcastle roles are the Data and Analytics ones, including the 12 month industrial placement.
  • The adverts sit on careers.marsh.com because "Oliver Wyman is a business of Marsh". That is their own system, not a job board.
  • Hybrid working is stated: "All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week."
  • No visa sponsorship statement, no security clearance requirement and no salary figure appears on any of the three UK early careers adverts.
  • The adverts invite you to "apply to attend one of our events". The UK page lists autumn 2026 dates including a Social Mobility Insight Event on 29 September 2026 and several sessions at UCL.
