Moelis & Company runs one UK early careers programme, the London Summer Analyst Internship Program, which its own students page describes as a "10-week summer internship for undergraduate students". London is its only UK office. The live advert is the 2027 Summer Analyst, Investment Banking role, open to "Any degree discipline" but with a published grade bar and a fixed graduation window.

How Moelis & Company recruits

Moelis publishes a fixed closing date rather than reviewing on a rolling basis. Nothing on the advert, the students page or the FAQ warns that applications close early once full. You apply through the Moelis student application site, and as a UK applicant you must "Complete the Suited Assessment". Moelis says it "requires our US and UK applicants to complete the assessment", that you take it "only once", that you "may share results with any firm that requests its completion", and to "allocate 30 minutes of uninterrupted time". Cover letters are not needed: "No, cover letters are not required." You are capped at two live applications, "Candidates are eligible to submit up to two applications", and if you reach interview for more than one you have to choose, because "candidates will need to select one position to continue the process".

Check the date carefully, because on 6 September 2026 Moelis is publishing two different closing dates for the same London role on its own system. The advert body says "Deadline to apply: September 11 2026". The student opportunities list on the same site says "Application Deadline: 25 Sept 2026". Work to 11 September 2026, the earlier of the two. Moelis says the "London Summer Analyst Intern Program: applications typically open in August for internships starting the following year." Both of the last two cycles closed on 30 September, so this cycle's advert date is about three weeks earlier than the recent pattern.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Moelis & Company describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01ApplicationMoelis asks you to "submit your resume through our student application website". No cover letter is required.
02Suited Assessment"US and UK candidates will complete the Suited Assessment". Around 30 minutes, taken once, and the result is reusable at other firms that ask for it.
03First round interviews"You will participate in one-to-two first-round interviews with investment bankers, consisting of technical and behavioral assessments."
04Final round"Second-round candidates will attend an onsite final round interview process, meeting with multiple senior bankers who will further evaluate your knowledge and capabilities."

Worth knowing

  • The grade bar is published and specific: "Minimum A-Level results of AAB (or equivalent)" and "Predicted a minimum of a 2.1 (or equivalent)".
  • There is a hard graduation window: "Graduation date between July 2027 - July 2028". If you graduate outside it, this advert is not for you.
  • Subject is open, "Any degree discipline", and for internships Moelis says "No prior experience is required for our Campus Programs, as comprehensive technical training is provided." That changes for graduate roles, where "finance experience, including previous investment banking internships, is expected."
  • A second language helps: "Being fluent in an additional European language would be highly desirable".
  • UK applicants must sit the Suited assessment before they can be considered. Budget 30 minutes, and note the result is reusable across firms that ask for it.
  • London is the only UK office, at "25 Baker Street London W1U 8EQ United Kingdom". There is no UK location outside London.
  • The internship is 10 weeks and opens with "a one-week training program that includes financial modelling and valuation training".
  • Moelis runs a Virtual Discovery Series on the same student site, but only "Moelis 101" on 11 Sept 2026 falls on or before the advert's stated deadline. The rest run from 2 Oct 2026 onward, after it. Do not wait for the events before applying.
  • Moelis publishes nothing about visa sponsorship or salary on the advert, the students page or the applicant tracking help centre. If either matters to you, ask the recruiting team before you apply.
