How Hived recruits

Hived's engineering roles carry a published four-stage process: an intro call with the hiring manager, a live coding challenge, a take-home case study followed by a design discussion, and an on-site interview at the Shoreditch HQ. Roles are posted and hired individually on Hived's Ashby job board rather than through a single fixed application window.

Hived's own job board does not state a fixed application window; our pipeline first confirmed a live intake for Hived on 20 August 2026. The Junior Backend Engineer (CX Squad) posting was published 7 July 2026, and the current Graduate Operations Executive Programme posting is aimed at 'graduating in 2026 (or graduated in 2024/25)'.

How the process usually runs

Stages as Hived describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

Worth knowing

  • The Junior Backend Engineer role asks for 'a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or STEM field (or equivalent practical experience)' and proficiency 'in a typed language (we use Go)'.
  • The Graduate Operations Executive Programme states applicants should be 'graduating in 2026 (or graduated in 2024/25 and are ready for your next move)' and describes it as '3-4-month rotations, ~13 months in total' with '3 weeks onboarding and shadowing' at the start.
