How Capital One recruits

Each programme is its own application rather than one shared funnel, and Capital One saysyou may apply to more than one, though if you are torn between the graduate and intern routefor the same team they suggest picking one, since the process is identical. Applicationsopen in September, and Capital One states plainly that closing dates vary by programme andcan move earlier than advertised if they receive a lot of applications, so applying when alisting goes live matters here. Capital One does not publish an ordered selection process. Its FAQ refers to online assessments, whose results stay valid for 12 months, to videointerviews, on which it does not give individual feedback, and to an interview day orassessment centre it sends preparation material for, but it never sets them out as asequence, so we do not either.

Capital One's own FAQ says: "Our programmes open for applications in September but closingdates vary by programme." The graduate scheme starts in "early September", and theinternship "runs for 10 weeks in the summer. This is typically the end of June to August."No more precise dates are published on the hub itself; specific closing dates are said tolive on each individual programme listing.

Worth knowing

  • Technology Graduate is open to "Final-year student graduating 2027 or recent graduate (2026), open to any degree subject", and requires "Strong understanding of at least one coding language and an aptitude for complex technical problem-solving."
  • Technology Internship (their term for what we list as Technology Summer Internship) is open to "Penultimate-year student (graduating 2028). Open to any degree subject", requiring "Good understanding of at least one coding language." It is Nottingham only; the Graduate scheme runs in both Nottingham and London.
  • No minimum grades: "we won't ask for your grades and we welcome applications from candidates of all degree disciplines."
  • No cover letter needed: "cover letters are not required for any role and won't be reviewed as part of your application."
  • Visa sponsorship: "We're able to offer sponsorship to candidates who are currently studying in the UK or have the right to work full time unrestricted via another visa type. This is subject to change at any time, dependent on current UK immigration rules."
  • Hybrid working: staff are expected "in the office for 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and work remotely Mondays and Fridays."
  • You'll be asked for an office preference (Nottingham or London) during the application, per role description.
  • Recent graduates can only apply to graduate roles, and only "within 12 months of you graduating or completing your post-graduate studies."
  • You can reapply "six months after your last application" if unsuccessful before.
