How BlackRock recruits

BlackRock's own published process has two stages: an online application with a mandatory pre-interview assessment, then interviews with the hiring function. It recruits on a rolling basis and says plainly that applying earlier improves your chances. Miss the five-day window to complete the assessment and the application is automatically withdrawn.

Applications for the cycle open in the summer with deadlines varying by programme. For 2027 entry, the London deadline for the Full-Time Analyst, Client and Product rotational, and Placement programmes is 30 September 2026.

How the process usually runs

Stages as BlackRock describes them. Timings vary by programme, so treat this as a guide rather than a commitment.

01Application and assessmentOnline application plus a timed pre-interview assessment of short video responses taking under ten minutes, with a coding challenge added for Software Engineering and Analytics and Modeling applicants.
02InterviewsWith the hiring function, focused on the BlackRock Principles and your experience; may include a group exercise, presentation or case study.

Worth knowing

  • The Full-Time Analyst Programme is open to all degree subjects, with eligibility set by graduation window rather than grades: 2027 entry asks for graduation between June 2026 and July 2027.
  • Pay is not printed in the posting; BlackRock links a separate salary-ranges document published under EU pay transparency rules.
